Prescription Pricing

We're committed to offering the lowest prices on prescription medicines.

Why do some prescription items have different prices?

Items which are subsidised by the Government under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) are charged at different prices depending on the type of benefit card you may have.

Private

The private price is the price with no PBS subsidy. If you don't have a Medicare card or any benefit cards, this is the price you will pay as you are not eligible for any discounts.

PBS

If you have a Medicare card, you are eligible to pay the discounted PBS price.

This may be the same as the private price when the medicine is cheaper than the PBS co-payment amount.

Concession PBS

If you have a Medicare card and Concession card, you are eligible to pay the Concession PBS price.

Safety Net

If you have a Medicare card, Concession card and Safety Net card, you are eligible to pay the Safety Net price.

The buck stops with you

We're proud to pass on the full $1 discount on PBS subsidised scripts.

Prescription prices start from $6.70.
